The City (50-100 words)
The capital of Sichuan province for more than 2,500 years, Chengdu is best known today for its unique cuisine and exciting wildlife—most famously, the Giant Panda. Located right in the heart of central China, Chengdu experiences a relatively mild climate, with short winters and comfortable summers, and also serves as an access point to the provinces of Yunnan, Tibet, and Xinjiang. The mild climate and spicy cuisine combine to create a population that is both relaxed and vibrant. This modern city with a long and interesting history has been called “China’s party city,” and is a fun and exciting destination.
