Have just returned (Jan 7, 2006) from 2.5 years teaching English in China. The school, Joy Language School of Luoyang, Henan, China, is a private school that teaches English to the children of the more affluent local community in off-school hours, such as nights and weekends. It was my responsibility to instill and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction within our employees to ensure growth. After opening 2.5 years ago with a class of 20 students, Joy Language School grew from one school to two, with a total of more than 600 students and 20 teachers.
Created end-user documentation for software such as Lotus QuickPlace, PromoNet, SmartTalk, NC State’s Housing and Residence Life and Judicial Systems, and MS Digital Dashboard. Created a Web portal for Lucent’s KU using Flash, HTML, and Digital Dashboard.
Sold, designed and developed dozens of Web sites as a freelance designer, including http://www.sandhillspca.org, http://www.yellowriverinkstone.com, and http://www.mantelsandmoreinc.com. Freelance PC hardware technician.
Created installation instructions for replacement parts of EMCO Electronics EECO Systems, greatly reducing the load on its technical support team. Redesigned and edited existing manuals.
Published a weekly column and feature articles for the Garner Times.
