PHYSICAL FITNESS:
I am in excellent health and have never had a serious illness. I am a non-smoker, a moderate drinker and have always maintained a healthy lifestyle. I exercise regularly mainly by tramping, riding my bicycle and eating sensibly.
PERSONAL OBJECTIVES:
To obtain a position assisting Chinese students improve their English language skills and to experience the personal fulfilment of having people learn from me.
To enjoy a special experience in a totally different cultural environment while at the same time gaining greater understanding of the country's history, traditions, people, culture and language.

§ Researched and developed a thesis that analysed the relationship between child labour and the socio-economic structures of society.

WORK HISTORY:
An College in Hunan, July 2005-present. English teacher.
§ I am responsible to the Head of Department for teaching oral English to students majoring in computer programming.
§ I am in full charge of the design and execution of all my in-class programmes and activities.
§ I encourage my students to expand their use of language by centering my lesson on their own interests, and by engaging them in oral communication.
§ I determine my own methods of evaluation in order to assess level of oral skill the students and to evaluate their progress.
Manukau Tyre Specialists, l979-l995. Owned, managed, and operated independent retail tyre business in Manukau City.

ACHIEVEMENTS:
§ Spent two years in Africa, designed and installed irrigation systems in Kenya and worked for a bank as an investment clerk in South Africa. Travelled on photographic safaris and around the African continent by ship.
§ Completed a four-week Outward Bound Mountain Course in Eskdale, UK.
§ Travelled extensively in Canada the USA, enjoyed mountain climbing and tramping worked part time jobs in the construction industry before immigrating to New Zealand.
§ Returned to full-time study at the age of 55 to fulfil a life-long ambition to complete a University degree.
