Nationality: United States  Age:64

I have almost 20 years experience as teacher, administrator and businessman including middle school, community college, university (as both professor and Dean) and in language study.  I also have 14 years experience living abroad in Japan, Latin America and now in Europe.

I do have my Doctorate and I do have experience as a university professor and Dean

(1) My Doctorate is in Education:  Teaching and Administration rather than in English though I do have in-depth studies in Communications, Literature and Creative Writing.

(2) My experience working as Dean included all the planning, curriculum revision, course planning, program development, obtaining the approvals for new classes and programs and, as well, I have the teacher training experience noted.

(3) Additionally in my work for language study schools over the last 8-plus years I have gainied experience in all phases of international exchange program development, program and course planning, program promotion and more.  And...

(4) I am fully qualified and experienced in development of research programs that may be applied to either educational development or to the business facets of the university.

Even though my major course of study in the university, however, was not English.

I do have the following unique qualifications...

(1) The last 8-plus years of my career I have focussed entirely on language learning

(2)  At my company this past 3 years, we conducted a large-scale research study comparing the relative effectiveness of immersion language study and traditional classroom study.

(3) I presented the results of this study at the 2005 NAFSA International Study Abroad Conference in Seattle, Washington.

(4) My Doctoral work at Columbia University (as noted on my CV) focused on ?on-Traditional Teaching/Learning Methods? and this study was a natural outcome of that earlier work.

(5) I have ample teaching and supervisory experience to the highest levels in both education and business.  And,

(6) If this university wants to promote language study and/or other programs to foreign students I can provide top-level assistance in that area as well.
