Profile                      I am currently halfway through my third academic year of teaching in two Asian countries with approximately, to this date, 2500 hours of teaching. I have made and sold student workbooks to my previous employers, obtaining competent skills for teaching at public or language training centres.

Work History

March 05 – July 05          Jin Shan Dian School - Central China.

I taught in two schools, five grade levels, Grade 4 to Grade 8. My job was to improve students, also my colleagues speaking ability, expanding their vocabulary/listening skills. . I created my own syllabus and materials to furnish the schools English Department.

Nov 04 – Feb 05                   System Training - Watana Witaya Academy School, Thailand

Here I taught Pratom One, 6 yrs old, at a 'Prestigious Girls Boarding School' in central Bangkok. The school building was previously an old Palace of King Rama 5.

 I followed an Oxford syllabus teaching phonic sound and simple sentence structure, word recognition, having to complete all units in the workbook before end of semester. I had the same students four times a week. This enabled them for a clear understanding of the English language. 

June – Oct 04                        Bright Future International Training Centre - Bangkok.

My title under this contract was ‘Travelling Teacher’. I had one permanent location and on other days I substituted at random schools as requested by my company. The English program I taught under was named Conversational English Program (CEP). This time I held Drama classes practising improvisation games. I set projects for students to create their own sketch in writing and performance, this encouraged my students to practise ESL outside the normal classroom environment, it was a huge confidence builder for them. During term holiday it was required to build 18+ database to be used as student workbooks and instructional teacher lesson plans.

Sept 03 – Feb 04                   Media Kids Language School. Mahasarakham, Thailand.

I was placed in a rural high school teaching twelve to sixteen year olds. This was a permanent location with a Standard English program. After school I held my first  Drama class rehearsing performances for a screenplay  written by myself, this was for the upcoming Christmas party.  For normal classes I taught all aspects of the English language finding this a challenge as students had little contact with other foreigners. On non school days it was obligatory to participate in English Camps in association with Media Kids.

May 03 – Sept 03                   Nature Method Institute. Bangkok

I was required to work as a relief teacher for classes ranging from pre-school to upper Matayom, eighteen years old, from English grammar to General Science. My duties were to have flexibility of time, making myself available and to have preparation done in advance before ‘on location’.
