2012 Summer Camp

 Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU), founded in 1962, is the key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education in China and also the only international university in China with the main task of teaching Chinese language and culture to foreign students. With its characteristic teaching theories and methods, Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is also one of the modern e-learning pilot university approved by the Ministry of Education in China and the exclusive one which could provide certificates of degree online.

Arrangement of the lecture tour

 

Itinerary

The student will arrive in Beijing on July 15 and leave on August 11^th. The Summer tour contains Chinese language and culture courses (20 days), city tour in Beijing (6 days) and pick-up and drop-off (2 days; BLCU is in charge)

 

Textbook and online courses:

“Conversational Chinese 301”+self-taught software (one or two courses for free)

 

Learning methods:

Face to face teaching+ online study (with specific instructors)

 

Course Arrangement:

       Class hour:

1. 90 class hours in total
2. Daily schedule: language classes in the morning and culture classes in the afternoon.
3. Language class arrangement: comprehensive classes and drill lesson
4. Culture class arrangement: Chinese painting and calligraphy, Wushu, Manufacture of Chinese Art; paper-cut, Beijing Opera Mask, Chinese knot, Chinese Tea, Chinese Medicine , Chinese dumpling making.

Note: we offer two free courses which the students could learn online after they go back to Canada for two months.

Weekend Culture Tour

The students will visit famous scenic spots in Beijing and experience the culture and life in Beijing.

 Tian’anmen square and Forbidden City

 Summer Palace,Bird Nest and Water Cube

 Ming Tombs, BaDaLing Great Wall

 Houhai, Hutong and Siheyuan

 The Mansion of Prince Gong and Beihai Park

: Yonghegong Lamasery and Temple of Confucius
