Yantai University has designed a complete system of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, employing a number of professional teachers who are licensed and qualified to deliver the courses. Yantai University has focused on teaching Chinese language and culture to international students since its inception and has good experience and expertise in the field.

Yantai University can provide a logistics service, carry out enrolment procedures and provide documentation for overseas students. It is responsible for orientation and briefings as well as providing a greeting service and support for international students.

Yantai University has developed and delivers the following services throughout the program: airport pick-up, arranging accommodation, providing orientation and guidance, giving holiday-making advice, as well as ticket-booking, and course instructions, giving assistance in opening bank accounts, landing service, shopping advice, as well as visa handling and interpretation/translation services.

Chinese Language and Culture Program for Semester Study

 

A.  Program Fees for One Semester: USD2500 per student, which includes the following costs:

1.       Tuition for one semester which contains four and half months;

2.        Housing Cost for one semester. Notes: each student has one standard hostel room on campus with the bathroom, all beddings and sheets, furniture, heating, and heating and air-conditioning facilities, phone with internet access, TV and hostel security and cleaning service;

3.       Provision of all textbooks for the course;

4.       Visa Extension Fees in China;

5.       University Application Fees and Student’s ID Cost;

6.       Free access to use of library and sports facilities on campus;

7.       Airport pick-up, sending-off service and landing service and support for the whole program;

8.       Assistance in opening banking account upon arrival and translation/interpretation service;

9.       Program support and logistics service throughout the program such as orientation and coordination among Yantai University administration, departments, teachers/staff and students on daily supervision basis;

10.   Assistance in organizing and planning tours and bookings for travels around China;

11.   Certificate of Completion of Program issued by Yantai University, and Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature degree granted after successfully completing the courses and obtaining the required credits for four-year intensive study;

12.   Arrangements of credits transfer back to home schools;

13.   Help in case of any emergency and need.

 

B.  The Program Fee excludes the following fees:

1.       International round-trip airfare to and from China and China domestic airfare.

2.       Visa application fee for entry into China;

3.       All tour and sightseeing costs within China during the placement of the Program;

4.       Meals costs(About USD50.-per month per student for meals in the campus cafeteria);

5.       Phone and internet bills;

6.       All insurances and medical costs;

7.       Fees for application for HSK(Chinese Proficiency Test by Chinese Ministry of Education) if applicable;

8.       Private tutoring costs;

9.       Any other personal expenses such as laundry, bus-fare, taxi , and any traveling costs in China.

Four years Chinese learning Curriculum

Chinese Language and Culture Program is specifically designed to international students for formal undergraduate B/A degree education with a complete system and schedule for intensive four-year courses. Through and after the study of the Program, international students could systematically master the basic theory and knowledge of Chinese language, and could conducting communications with skillful Chinese proficiency, and gain the comparatively strong competencies in the Chinese listening, speaking, reading, writing as well as translating. Meanwhile, international students could also familiarize with the Chinese current state situation and features, and have a complete and thorough understanding of Chinese politics, economy, history, culture and so on. The Program is designed with a view to making international students become the specialized talents who can be competent and qualified to take the careers in the fields of business, journalism, translation and interpretation, Chinese education and cultural and academic exchange and etc. International students majoring in this Program could be granted the Diploma of Yantai University and Degree of Bachelor of Arts granted by the Ministry of Education of P.R. China upon obtaining the required credits hours for graduation.
